A grey weekend in Montreal
Montreal decided to slump back into spring again this weekend after a brief attempt at summer. If I wanted cold grey skies and rain in June I would have stayed home.
A busy weekend anyway. Friday afternoon went to a free electronica concert as part of the Mutek festival. Nice music but a bit repetitive after 20 minutes so I wandered off and did grocery shopping. This required a short detour through a red-light bit of Rue Ste-Catherine (it was on my way, honest).
Saturday was dismal and rainy so went to the excellent Pointe-à-Callière Museum in old Montreal. Lots of interesting old foundations in the basement.
Sunday was at least partly sunny so I hiked up Mont-Royal to the Chalet and the big cross on the top. The cross looks great at night from downtown, but it is pretty ugly close up, especially as it is currently a construction site. Click on the picture for more photos.
